In this one day course you will explore a range of simple book formats and hand binding techniques, including a pamphlet book, a concertina book and the double concertina, a structure that Tracey has utilised in her award winning bindings, and has developed into unique structures. The course includes an introduction to making, covering grain direction cutting, folding and glueing out.
By the end of the day, you should have produced samples of 3 different, simple book forms.
All materials are incuded in the course fee, and small tools will be provided.

Hosted by the beautiful Gallery 57, Arundel, Sussex which is part of a Grade 2 listed, Georgian house where owner and practicing artist, Ann Symes, lives. This light, spacious gallery with a nod to its residential origins, provides a comfortable and welcoming space. Local, national and international artists and makers are invited to take part in a programme of thoughtfully curated, themed exhibitions. Ann's studio is linked to the gallery and will be our base for the course.
Lunch is not included, but there are numerous local cafes where something delicious can be obtained! Arundel is stunning market town in the South Downs, West Sussex, England. The much-conserved town has a medieval castle and Roman Catholic cathedral.
